Low peak season – winter, when I visited Dubrovnik. Not only it was still great weather, but it was also half-empty to enjoy the places without queuing. Stayed in hostel adria, quite small, but new place.
Disadvantage of the low season is that many places are closed, so you cannot enjoy the vibe of the party and people if you prefer that on the travels.
I divided my weekend trip to 2 parts, countryside and city. The first day i took uber close to Bosanka, to the Zarkovica ulica. Which was half-price than Bosanka, then walked for 10 minutes to the village. Beautiful view with chairs and relax π just glass of wine missing. Spent there some time jsut relaxing and reading.
Next stop was Srd hill, where i walked for another 15-20 minutes. Had soup and tea – all other menu items were expensive, i guess you pay for the view – which was not actually that great. On my way down, I went bit further behind the Srd cable car and there was the best view. Also when walking down the hill was good. Definitelly better than paying 120kunas.
Over the 3.12 Saturday there was competition run uphill with lots of runners. It was quite long and tough – luckily i was walking downhill π
Next day city walls which were pretty good, but unfortunately best pictures would be against the sun, would recommend to go either in the evening or early morning that you can take the picture with whole city from the top part of the walls. Walls are really thick, no wonder they survived so long. Lovrijenac wasnt miss either – nothing special though.
Town city was quite similar to Split and Sibenik. Many places outside of the main street were closed.
Overall nice relaxed weekend for me and quite on budget.
