Triglav is the name of the national park and also highest mountain of Slovenia. I had opportunity to climb it and walk around Triglav’s lakes. The hike to the top is pretty demanding, but is possible in few days.
We started by lake Bohinj on east side – Stara Fuzina, we hiked to Dom Vodnikov, where we stayed the night. The travel time mentioned 3,5 hours, we walked for 5. We also stopped by Mostnice waterfall.
Second day we started early as it was supposed to be long hike – it was way longer than expected. Starting at 6:30 AM via Dom Planika pod triglavom we arrived to Triglav peak around 11AM. It was great view and lots of people, even some old generations π Triglav climb was quite a CLIMB for a hiker, enjoyable though. After lunch we went down the other side of Triglav via Koca na Dolicu. Just needed to go slowly as sometimes there were no chains or ropes to hold on. There was last uphill over Miseljski konec – not expected π on the way to 7 Triglav lakes. Then just down to Koca pri Triglavskich jezerih. This whole journey took us 12 hours!
Third day we took the way via Crno jezero and Koca pri Savici. Then bus to Stara Fuzina. IT was really tough unexpected downhill.
Overall trip was amazing – views, nature, weather, but…
What i would do better next time?
Divide the route up to Triglav with way back. Either walk higher first day or sleep closer to Triglav second day.
I would not sleep at Koca pri Triglavskich jezerih again, very old furnished beds and doors. Cracked so much that whoever moved, everyone woken up – if you are questioning whether i was tired enough, then YES, i walked crazy 12 hours.
I would not bring harness, but only helmet and gloves.
